POP Mission - July 23, 2023

It is always good to review the mission we are called to and how we are living it out. I realized since I am entering my fourth year here at Prince of Peace, and in prayer and consultation with my various councils and leadership I felt called to update the parish’s vision. It fits with the 3 cultures I want Prince of Peace to have (unceasing prayer, healthy teamwork, & active discipleship), and it describes how we are called to live our faith. We have also updated the parish logo and letterhead to include the new mission (and to use a newer font).

Our Mission:

A Year Of Spirituality - July 16, 2023

jarradIf I said to you “For one year, you cannot use your phone, the computer, listen to music or watch TV” what would be your response? It stresses me out to even ask that question. I am sure that most people would be in the same boat. I would guess that most of us are dependent on technology in one way or another. Maybe it is the occasional scroll right before bed or checking the latest news first thing in the morning.

Welcome Seminarian Jarrad Condreay! - June 25, 2023

Jarrad will be with us from June 24th until July 23rd. He has spent the previous month on a 30-day silent retreat and after his time with us will be going to World Youth Day in Lisbon, Portugal with all the other seminarians. Jarrad has just finished his spirituality year at St. John Vianney Seminary and will be heading into Pre-Theology I. Please welcome Jarrad to POP and pray for him!

Peace,
Fr. Greg

A note from Fr. John:

Fr. John I was born on October 2, 1985, the last born in a family of six siblings and I am blessed to have both of my parents still living.

Ascension & Assignments - May 21, 2023

Happy Ascension of the Lord! I usually think of mission when I think of the Ascension. Jesus ascends to Heaven, but gives us the command to carry on His mission of saving souls, “Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19–20)

Campus Renovations slowly upcoming - May 7, 2023

Come to him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. - 1 Peter 2:4-5

In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? - John 14:2
