Seminarian Jarrad CondreayMy name is Jarrad Condreay.  I am a first-year seminarian at Saint John Vianney Seminary in Denver, CO.   I have been a part of the Diocese of Kansas City for the last three years.  I spent the first 30 years of my life in the Diocese of Wichita.  Wichita is where I was taught about the faith by my amazing family as well as at Catholic School.  I didn’t follow the typical route of discerning the priesthood right out of high school or college like most of my brother seminarians, which makes me the oldest seminarian in my class by about 8 years.

For college, I attended Wichita State University where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing.  I started my nursing career in 2010 the Cardiac ICU where my passion for nursing grew stronger each day.  Throughout the years I have worked in almost every department in the hospital, but I mostly focused on ICU, Pediatrics, ER and psych nursing.  During this time, I went back to school to receive my Masters in Business Administration from Creighton University.  My last couple years of nursing were spent at Osawatomie State Psychiatric Hospital where I was the Chief Nursing Officer.  Moving to Kansas City really made me fall back in love with my Catholic faith and invigorated me like never before.  At that time, I became involved with many young adult ministries through City on a Hill.  As my faith grew, so did my desire to discern God’s call to the seminary.  I am excited to be working in the parish and hope that I get to know many of you throughout the summer.
