Online schooling to begin March 30 stay tuned for updates.
3/17/20 - Message from Mrs. Shriver, Principal
At the direction of Laura Kelly, Governor of Kansas, school “as we know it” will be closed for the remainder of the 2019- 2020 school year. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of your child(ren) and our community in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Prince of Peace Catholic School is actively engaged in planning on how we will continue to provide instruction to your child(ren). Please watch for additional information via email and text with specific instructions regarding the next steps for your child(ren). We will begin our new academic program the week of March 30, 2020.
Education and learning will continue. I would like to have more information for you, but we are awaiting information from the Department of Education. I will communicate information to you as soon as it is available. For your planning through March 30th, there is no school. This week is Spring Break, next week students will have the week off of learning also as it will be a time of planning for our faculty and staff. Information will be forwarded your way mid next week as to how we will blend learning to complete the school year.
While this closure will present a challenge for many of our families, we agree with Governor Kelly that this change in our academic program is in the best interest of our students, families and community. Please follow the advice of local and state health officials and the CDC in order to keep you and your family safe during this unprecedented time.
Please join me in praying for our students, teachers, families and those affected by COVID-19.
My prayers for our children and your families. My prayers for all during these difficult days in our country and world.
