"One Faith. One Family. One Future... In Christ."

This weekend, we are addressing the Archdiocesan Capital Campaign that we have begun here at Prince of Peace. Every parish of the Archdiocese is participating in this effort and this is now our time.

Over a month ago we published a flyer announcing the campaign and have formed our leadership team to assist our parish staff in this effort. This campaign will help those in retirement who have been a witness to our faith, specifically our priests and those who reside in Villa St. Francis here in Olathe. This will also help the thousands of people who every year are blessed to use Savior Pastoral Center which holds our Archdiocesan offices, events and retreats throughout the year. Additional funds will be used to address needs of poorer areas
of the Archdiocese specifically with Church property in need of repair where the funds are not available or hard to come by.

25% of the funds raised will help our own parish address some of our local needs and opportunities such as improving campus security and giving our Church a fresh look. Our parish case statement can be found in the bulletin today.

Over the next three months every household in the parish will be contacted and invited to find out more about this opportunity to support this Archdiocesan-wide effort. We will be hosting a variety of receptions and inviting all to attend. We will have a packet of information for all of you as well, to take home to help in your discernment about your gift and pledge.

As Church, our Lord calls us to be mindful of the needs of others, and as Catholics that call is a universal one. We are blessed to be a part of the Archdiocesan Church, and in mission together, we grow closer to God as we are guided by the holy Spirit. We meet the challenges that surround us together; the challenges of our culture and of our times, with faith and confidence that under the guidance of our God, together we will continue to thrive.

This is an opportunity to impact the lives of people throughout northeast Kansas and in the world, in moments of happiness and in times of weakness. Young and old, we help each other as part of the one community of the baptized, to bring that light to the world. This is another example of how we can be united as one in a common effort to do good.
