Gala FAQs

Q:  What does the Gala raise money for:

A:  Tuition payments are only a portion of the schools budget.  It takes a significant parish subsidy and other donations and fundraising to completely fulfill our budgetary needs.  The gala is the primary source of fundraising for our school.  Proceeds from the auctions provide for school, students and staff in many ways, Education, safety and security are always top priorities.  It also helps fund things including:   field trips, textbooks, playground equipment, continuing education, technology & equipment upkeep, building security & security, religious education and classroom supplies

Q:  Why do families need to donate cash or a  gala gift or item?

A:  The silent and live auctions are the primary source of fundraising during the gala.  There are typically 300+ silent auction items and 10+ live auction items. The more items in the auction, the more money we will raise for the school. Here some photos from prior years of the silent auction before it went mobile!

Q:  We are a new school family, how do we get involved in the gala?

A:  Although the gala occurs on a single day in February, there are many ways we need family involvement leading up to the Gala.
  • Donations for auction - all families are asked to donate an item valued at $50 or greater by 12/10.  Class competitions and drawings will occur throughout the fall
  • Sell 50/50 raffle tickets- to family & friends in December & January
  • Volunteer! -  Volunteers are needed on committees to prepare for gala and also needed  to set up for and execute  the night of the event!
  • Adults only  - attend the parent tailgate and the gala  - these events are full of fun and fellowship for our school community all while supporting a great cause!

Q:  How do the kids get involved with the gala?

A:  While there have always been class competitions and prizes for participation in donations and raffle ticket selling, this year there is an all NEW Class Olympics being planned.  Stay tuned for more information coming soon!

Q:  If we purchase gala tickets what does that include?

A:  Tickets are sold in advance and include appetizers, dinner, dessert, drinks, silent and live auctions with plenty of community fellowship.   Tickets are sold on an individual basis, but you can indicate if you have a group that would like to sit together at an 8 person table.  Each year the gala is  a little different and typically has a theme which determines gala attire!

Q:  If we can’t attend the gala, are there other ways we can participate that day?

A:  Yes!  The silent auction is administered via a mobile app that all can bid on items from wherever they are, the silent auction will open up the week prior to the gala !

Q:  Is there a theme for the gala, and does that mean I have to dress up?

A:  This year the theme is Olympics, be ready for your family to show your olympic spirit throughout the year and at the gala!!
Gala attire will be casual and whatever you are most comfortable in, here is some inspiration!
