I am a native Kansan from Wichita and have worked in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas for almost 30 years, mainly at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center at the University of Kansas, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawnee/Bonner Springs, St. Patrick Catholic Church in Kansas City, and St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Topeka. I received an undergraduate degree in Organ Performance from the University of Kansas in 1992 and then pursued graduate work while on scholarship at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz, Germany. Upon returning to the States, I continued my organ studies at the University of Notre Dame. During these years, I also performed and competed throughout the United States as a featured organist, including at the United States Air Force Academy Summer Recital Series in Colorado Springs. I have been married for over 20 years to Lahsen Jakmouj and we have 3 children.
