Holy Eucharist

The Sacrament of Eucharist is the preeminent sacrament from which all others have meaning. In the Eucharist, Christ is most profoundly present in the Church, which gathers to hear the Word of God and to share the nourishment of Christ's Body with one another.

As Catholics, we fully participate in the celebration of the Eucharist when we receive Holy Communion. We are encouraged to receive Communion devoutly and frequently. In order to be properly disposed to receive Communion, participants should not be conscious of grave sin and normally should have fasted for one hour.

School of Religion students celebrate First Eucharist in the 2nd grade and preparation begins in the 1st grade. For program information please click here or contact the School of Religion Office at 913.829.1147.

Prince of Peace Catholic School second graders receive sacramental preparation for First Eucharist during the school day. Students receive religious instruction each day and attend Mass weekly.  Students have the opportunity each school day to integrate the Catholic faith in learning and friendships.
